GORILLA TUTORIAL
ADVANCED
Draw this Gorilla with me in real-time where I show you step-by-step exactly what to do to achieve a detailed, realistic drawing. Some key techniques I'll teach you are how to draw skin and how to use the slice manual pen cutter to create light hairs.
PAPER
I use Fabriano Artistico Hot Pressed Watercolour Paper for this tutorial, which in more recent years has become more grainy and difficult to work with.
I now recommend using the Strathmore 300 Series Bristol Vellum as it's got a slightly more slippery surface which is necessary for using the slice tool. It’s also a great paper for students and beginners and is what I use for almost all tutorials now.
