MACAW TUTORIAL

FUNDAMENTALS

Draw a Macaw in coloured pencils with me where I show you step by step exactly what to do to achieve a realistic drawing, plus I go through some experimental techniques for adding backgrounds using Pan Pastels, and trying different blending tools.

PAPER

I use Fabriano Artistico hot pressed watercolour paper 640GSM for this tutorial which has a texture to it. Alternatively, I recommend the 300GSM Fabriano which is cheaper, or start out with a paper such as Strathmore 300 Series Bristol Vellum as it's perfect for beginners.
